Wheeling can  bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Friday. They walked away with  a   5-2  win over the Buffalo Grove Bison. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Bison  back in April, they had to take a  5-0  defeat.
 Ava Shrake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Caitlyn Fitzgerald, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season. Another player making a difference was  Viansa Pollina, who  went 1-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Wheeling's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Buffalo Grove, their record is now 9-11.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeling will face off against Maine East at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Buffalo Grove, they will square off against Vernon Hills at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
