Basketball Recap: Sedgwick Comes Up Short

Sedgwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 73-32 loss at the hands of the Lyons Lions. The Cardinals were down 68-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Deacon Showalter was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 10 on his way to 18 points and eight assists for Lyons. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Solis, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Sedgwick's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lyons, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sedgwick Cardinals challenge the Moundridge Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Moundridge will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Sedgwick surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lyons, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m.
