Basketball Game Preview: Aiken Fighting Green Hornets vs. Midland Valley Mustangs

Aiken has gone 10-0 against Midland Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets will take on the Midland Valley Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Midland Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Aiken, who comes in off a win.

Aiken is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Brookland-Cayce: they outscored them in every quarter. Aiken took down Brookland-Cayce 51-37 on Thursday.

Malasia Jamison was her usual excellent self, putting up 23 points. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Azaria Sapp, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Midland Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Gilbert. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since November 29, 2024.

Aiken is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Midland Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything came up roses for Aiken against Midland Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 68-36 win. Will Aiken repeat their success, or does Midland Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
