Preview: Olathe North Eagles vs. Blue Valley Tigers
Olathe North has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Blue Valley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Olathe North walked away with it. They blew past Blue Valley West 35-14. Considering Olathe North has won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tj Porter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 39 receiving yards. Porter hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games.
Meanwhile, Blue Valley never let their opponents score on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 17-0 win over Olathe East. The victory was nothing new for Blue Valley as they're now sitting on three straight.
Among those leading the charge was John Price, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Grady Westphal also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
Olathe North has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Blue Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Olathe North beat Blue Valley 28-21 in their previous meeting back in November of 2020. Does Olathe North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Blue Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
