Softball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Heelan Catholic Crusaders. If the Lynx were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jocelyn Ridder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Adler, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bishop Heelan Catholic, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Crusaders beat Lincoln by a score of 10-2 later that day.
