Softball Game Preview: Bear River Bears vs. Desert Hills Thunder

For the second straight game, Bear River will face off against Desert Hills. The Bears will face off against the Thunder at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Bear River will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Bear River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Desert Hills by a score of 6-3. Six seems to be a good number for the Bears as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Bostyn Lish was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Luci Roche was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bear River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Hills only managed six hits.

With the defeat, Desert Hills broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 31-3. As for Bear River, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 32-2.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Bear River hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Desert Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.9 home runs.
