Carter Eickmeier Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Friday, Shelby-Rising City got the W thanks in part to Carter Eickmeier playing the best football he has all season. Eickmeier rushed for 244 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (102.8). He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Shelby-Rising City, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Eickmeier and Shelby-Rising City will square off against Mead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mcdonald Came Up Big in Mccool Junction's 52-6 Win

McCool Junction found a leader in Carson Mcdonald as the team took down Heartland on Friday. Mcdonald was dynamite, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and a touchdown.

McCool Junction's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when Mustangs dukes it out withCentennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jakson Smaus Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, East Butler got the W thanks in part to Jakson Smaus playing the best football he has all season. Smaus picked up 143 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

On the season, Smaus has caught those 4 touchdowns while averaging 37.8 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 13.17 receiving yards per game.

Grant Kozisek Has Career-Day on Friday

Grant Kozisek produced his most outstanding game to date while leading East Butler to the win on Friday. Kozisek rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 96 yards and three touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles and defending two passes.

For the season, Kozisek has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 21.8 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 5.33 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 35.67 rushing yards.

Tytus R Lee Delivers Best Performance of Season

Sadly, Tytus R Lee posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mead over East Butler on Friday. R Lee made 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss). The effort also marked the most rushing yards (84) he has had since back in September of 2023. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 64 yards.

Mead is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. R Lee and Mead will head out to challenge Shelby-Rising City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
