Baseball Game Preview: Bishop England Battling Bishops vs. Beaufort Eagles

The Bishop England Battling Bishops are taking a road trip to challenge the Beaufort Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop England took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over May River.

The team relied heavily on WILL RISSMILLER, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. PETER FULTON also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaufort). They put the hurt on Hilton Head Island with a sharp 13-3 victory on Friday. The Eagles have beaten the Seahawks the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Seahawks has come to flipping the script.

Bishop England has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. The victory got Beaufort back to even at 6-6.

Bishop England took their win against Beaufort in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop England since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
