It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Union had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Taylorsville Tartars 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jon Grey Morrisson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gavin Foley was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
West Union's victory bumped their record up to 22-13. As for Taylorsville, their loss dropped their record down to 21-12.
West Union will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tartars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
