Concord Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Jada Powell. The Eagles took down the Charlotte Latin Hawks 63-48 on Monday with plenty of help from Powell, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Concord Academy is 3-1 when Powell posts 15 or more points, but 1-3 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Charlotte Latin still got an impressive performance from Lanie Edwards, who posted 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. The game was Edwards' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Snyder, who scored nine points and six rebounds.

The win got Concord Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Charlotte Latin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Concord Academy has already played their next matchup, an 83-59 loss against Lake Norman on the 28th. As for Charlotte Latin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-19 victory against Hickory Grove Christian on the 25th.
