Baseball Recap: Pope John XXIII Drops Season-High Score on Randolph

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pope John XXIII). They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Randolph Rams on Wednesday. For Pope John XXIII, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 victory Randolph walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Will Ryan was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Joseph Manco was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Pope John XXIII was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Pope John XXIII back to even at 2-2. As for Randolph, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pope John XXIII will head out to face off against St. Peter's Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Randolph, they will challenge Jackson Memorial at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
