High school football rankings: Kimberly finishes No. 1 in final Wisconsin MaxPreps Top 25

Papermakers win eighth state crown in school history.

The high school football season in Wisconsin came to a close over the weekend. Kimberly was among the winners, beating Mukwonago 34-30 in the Division 1 state championship game. That victory helped propel the Papermakers to the No. 1 ranking in the final state MaxPreps Top 25.

Kimberly (13-1) won its first state title since 2017 and eighth in school history. The Papermakers were led by running back Blake Barry, who rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns in the championship game at Camp Randall Stadium.

Checking in at No. 3 was Division IV state champion Columbus, which capped an undefeated (14-0) campaign with a late field goal to secure a 23-21 win over Catholic Memorial (Waukesha) in the title game.
