Basketball Recap: Meadowbrook Takes a Loss

Meadowbrook played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-31 defeat at the hands of the New Lexington Panthers. The Colts have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Meadowbrook lost, don't look at Colton Delancey. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points. Justice Huey was another key player, putting up three points and six boards.

Isaiah Stephens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Lexington, going 6 for 8 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. The contest was Stephens' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Stephens, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Meadowbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for New Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Meadowbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-37 defeat against Ridgewood on the 20th. New Lexington has also already played their next contest, a 59-34 loss against Columbus Academy on the 18th.
