Basketball Recap: Bucklin-Macon County Bulldogs vs. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers
If Bucklin-Macon County was feeling good fresh off their 75-40 takedown of Southwest two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bucklin-Macon County Bulldogs had to suffer through a 65-35 loss at the hands of the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Hunter Miller was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 15 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris. Miller's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Bower, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Bucklin-Macon County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bucklin-Macon County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
