Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Limestone + Official Tickets

The Sterling Golden Warriors will square off against the Limestone Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sterling is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Sterling will bounce into Monday's match after beating Galesburg, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Golden Warriors walked away with a 3-1 win over the Silver Streaks on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Bloomington kept up with Limestone until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Rockets put the hurt on the Purple Raiders with a sharp 5-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Limestone, who have now won 12 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Bloomington with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Joey Shields (2), Logan Smallwood (2), and Ben Subbert.

Sterling's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Limestone, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-2.

Everything went Sterling's way against Limestone in their previous meeting back in October of 2015, as Sterling made off with a 6-1 win. Do the Golden Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
