Volleyball Recap: Mekeel Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Middleburgh on Friday, Mekeel Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen on Saturday. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Flying Dutchmen when the teams met back in October of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mekeel Christian Academy's offense was headlined by Mikal Towers and Paige Brennan, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Bria Salvo and her ten assists. Towers and Salvo didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Mekeel Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Guilderland, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Mekeel Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Mechanicville on the 27th. As for Guilderland, they will face off against Averill Park at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
