Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raymore-Peculiar). They put the hurt on the Belton Pirates with a sharp 67-41 win on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Pirates are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Belton lost, don't look at Cooper Shrum. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Maiden, who had seven points.

The victory made it two in a row for Raymore-Peculiar and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Belton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing KIPP Legacy the next time they take the court. Belton will head out to face KIPP Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Raymore-Peculiar will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
