Baseball Recap: Valders Comes Up Short

If Valders was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Hilbert last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Kiel Raiders on Tuesday, falling 12-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost nine in a row.

Valders saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Evenson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Carter Valleskey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Valders' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Kiel, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

While Valders had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
