Baseball Recap: Lebanon Trail Takes a Loss

Lebanon Trail is still winless after their contest against Saginaw on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Saginaw Rough Riders.

Lebanon Trail got a good showing from Connor Baker, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Wyatt Woods and Finnegan O'Brien did some serious damage despite the final result: Woods scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while O'Brien went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one RBI. Those runs marked the first that Woods scored this season.

Lebanon Trail's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Saginaw, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Lebanon Trail will be taking part in a tournament against The Colony at 12:30 p.m. on March 7th. As for Saginaw, they will take on Liberty Christian in a tournament on Friday. Saginaw's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Liberty Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
