Softball Recap: Greenback Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Greenback had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wartburg Central Bulldogs 3-2. This was payback for the Cherokees, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kendi Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Greenback now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Wartburg Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

As of now, neither Greenback nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
