Meanwhile, Cherokee County waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Panthers.
Cherokee County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.
Cherokee County found their leader in underclassman Jesslyn Hincy, who had 13 digs.
Alexandria has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 31-11 record this season. As for Cherokee County, their victory bumped their record up to 31-10.
