Baseball Recap: Rivercrest Comes Up Short

After flying high against Como-Pickton last Friday, Rivercrest came back down to earth. The Rivercrest Rebels came up short against the Union Grove Lions on Friday, falling 18-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered since March 22, 2024.

Rivercrest's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Union Grove, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4-1.

Looking ahead, Rivercrest will square off against McLeod at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rivercrest has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Union Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Union Grove Lions challenge Beckville Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
