Volleyball Recap: Holgate Comes Up Short

Holgate came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Swanton Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-11.

Lydia Hoellrich paced Holgate's offense, picking up six kills. Hoellrich got some help from Sylee Leaders and her seven assists.

Holgate's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Swanton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Holgate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Continental on the 22nd. As for Swanton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against North Central on the 22nd.
