Football Game Preview: Skyview Falcons vs. Russell Rustlers + How To Watch

The Skyview Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Russell Rustlers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyview hasn't scored more than seven points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Skyview came up short against Billings Senior on Friday, falling 28-7.

Meanwhile, Russell hadn't done well against Bozeman recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rustlers snuck past the Hawks with a 27-21 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rustlers.

A big part of Russell's win came down to the chemistry between Caleb Taylor and his top target Ben Cunningham. Taylor threw for 236 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt while Cunningham picked up 138 receiving yards and one TD. Taylor's passing game has become a key predictor of Russell's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Russell didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Bozeman to a completion percentage of just 48.5%. The Rustlers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.9%.

Russell now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Skyview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Skyview came up short against Russell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 15-9. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
