Basketball Game Preview: Orme Warriors vs. Verde Valley Coyotes

The Orme Warriors will take on the Verde Valley Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orme's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Orme was beaten by American Heritage Academy 59-29.

Meanwhile, Verde Valley's game on Wednesday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 36-17 win over Telesis Prep.

Orme better keep an eye on Peter Heller. He was instrumental in Verde Valley's win, putting up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chaveyo Viafora, who posted 11 points.

Orme's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Verde Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Orme skirted past Verde Valley 43-41 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orme since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
