St. Joseph lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Monroe Township, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. St. Joseph never let Monroe Township get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. St. Joseph might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Joseph Barca, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Monroe Township off the board.

On the hitting side, St. Joseph got a big performance out of Owen Kruly, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Kruly has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

St. Joseph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe Township only posted a batting average of .182.

St. Joseph now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Monroe Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

St. Joseph will have a chance to go back-to-back against Monroe Township: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
