Whetstone won the last time they faced Beechcroft and things went their way on Monday too. The Braves put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won five matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Jillian Nelson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Bair, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
