Basketball Recap: St. Francis Borgia Comes Up Short

St. Francis Borgia lost against Owensville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. Francis Borgia Knights fell to the Owensville Dutchmen 45-39. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Dutchmen are ranked 57th).

St. Francis Borgia has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Owensville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis Borgia has already played their next contest (against St. Dominic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Owensville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th.
