Football Recap: Perry Falls to South in First Game of Season

Perry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the South Rebels on Friday, falling 34-6. The Pirates were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

South's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Perry will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Madison at 8:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for South, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 36-12 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 4th.
