Softball Game Preview: Tenino Beavers vs. Onalaska Loggers

The Tenino Beavers will challenge the Onalaska Loggers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tenino is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past King's Way Christian 11-3 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Beavers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Chloe Grayless was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylie Gonia and Georgia Gore did most of the damage at the plate: Gonia went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Gore got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most runs Gonia has posted since back in March. Jaeleen Woodward also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Onalaska, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Mossyrock 2-1.

Onalaska pushed their record up to 6-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tenino, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-14.

Tenino was able to grind out a solid victory over Onalaska in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Loggers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
