Softball Game Preview: Sebastopol Bobcats vs. Northeast Lauderdale Trojans

The Sebastopol Bobcats will square off against the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sebastopol will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, Sebastopol got the win against Philadelphia by a conclusive 19-4. Considering the Bobcats have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Marlee Smith was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Jaylee Coleman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Smith wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Sebastopol kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northeast Lauderdale got themselves on the board against Quitman on Friday, but Quitman never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 15-0 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.

Sebastopol pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
