Preview: Washington County Golden Hawks vs. Butler Bulldogs

The Washington County Golden Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Butler Bulldogs at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Washington County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Josey, but they still walked away with a 55-50 win. The victory was just what Washington County needed coming off of a 87-59 defeat in their prior match.

Washington County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brashod Heggs, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds. Justin Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Meanwhile, Butler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Putnam County 83-52 on the road. Butler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Butler found their leader in underclassman Kwamane Bridges, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bridges has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Bell, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Washington County now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Butler, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Washington County ended up a good deal behind Butler in their previous meeting on January 2nd, losing 57-41. Will Washington County have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
