Volleyball Recap: Zion-Benton Takes a Loss

Zion-Benton lost against Waukegan back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Zee-Bees fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Zion-Benton sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 22-25, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Jason Ardon, who had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs gave him a new career-high. David Brown also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Zion-Benton's loss dropped their record down to 8-26. As for Waukegan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 18-11.

Coming up, Zion-Benton will square off against North Chicago at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waukegan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
