Soccer Game Preview: Modesto vs. Turlock

Modesto and Turlock are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Modesto Panthers will head out to face off against the Turlock Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Modesto has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Turlock will come in with three straight wins.

Modesto fell victim to Downey and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 4-0. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Turlock's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Pitman out 3-2. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by just one goal.

Sebastian Carbajal and Fernando Carbajal scored all three of Turlock's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Turlock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three games. As for Modesto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12-3.

Modesto might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Turlock when the teams last played on January 8th. Can Modesto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
