Recap: Cameron County Raiders vs. Clarion Area Bobcats
After flying high against the Coudersport Falcons last Thursday, the Cameron County Raiders came back down to earth. Cameron County was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 54-53 to Clarion Area. Cameron County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clarion Area apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Cameron County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Beer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Smith, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Cameron County's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Clarion Area, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Cameron County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marion Center at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Marion Center will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Clarion Area, they will head out on the road to face off against East Forest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. East Forest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 691st, while Clarion Area is ranked 248th).
