Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

If Union was feeling good fresh off their 67-24 takedown of Hamilton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Cristo Rey Wolves on Friday. The Rockets lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in February of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-34 score last time.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Lamar Schwartz, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Schwartz now owns an excellent 45.9% shooting accuracy. Lavon Schwartz was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Union has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Providence Cristo Rey, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 loss against Muncie Burris on the 14th. As for Providence Cristo Rey, they have also already played their next game, a 55-52 defeat against Elwood on the 14th.
