Baseball Preview: Farmington Farmers vs. El Paso-Gridley Titans        
        
		
            
 The Farmington Farmers will head out on the road to  take on  the El Paso-Gridley Titans at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The last four games Farmington has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 Farmington took a loss when they played away from home  on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Bushnell-Prairie City  4-3.
  Jacob Evans made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. Evans was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jack Wheelwright, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run and two  RBI.  Landon Crusen was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile,  El Paso-Gridley unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Henry-Senachwine.
 Like Farmington, El Paso-Gridley also got a great game from a two-way player:  Brady Veselack. He  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Veselack was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Veselack wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Camden Bressner, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
 Farmington's victory  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 11-12. As for El Paso-Gridley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Farmington has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.7  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like El Paso-Gridley struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
