Basketball Recap: Jacob Mccollum Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northern Burlington

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westampton Tech had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Northern Burlington Greyhounds as they made off with a 64-38 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th in New Jersey, while the Greyhounds are ranked 254th in New Jersey), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westampton Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob McCollum led the charge by going 6-for-7 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. What's more, McCollum also posted an 86% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024. Jaiden House also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Westampton Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 11-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

The victory made it two in a row for Westampton Tech and bumps their season record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Northern Burlington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Westampton Tech nor Northern Burlington have any future games scheduled.
