Basketball Recap: Northern Durham Takes a Loss

Northern Durham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Hillside Hornets, falling 56-18. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 68-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Hillside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kynnedy Roberts led the charge by going 5 for 10 on her way to 12 points along with seven boards and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzy Green, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points and six steals.

Northern Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hillside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.

Northern Durham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-21 loss against East Chapel Hill on the 31st. As for Hillside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-23 win against Riverside-Durham on the 31st.
