St. Pius X faced Lafayette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. St. Pius X took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lafayette. St. Pius X's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Kate Sherry paced St. Pius X's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sherry got some help from Elena Ruble and her 19 assists.

Lafayette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Wiese, who had ten digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Lowery, who had 13 assists and three digs.

St. Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 33-1.

St. Pius X has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Webb City on the 18th. As for Lafayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Howell Central on the 18th.
