Basketball Recap: American History Comes Up Short

American History won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Newark Central Blue Devils, falling 55-20. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

American History lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Erica Lawson, who posted nine points. Lawson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashiyah Holliman, who had four points and eight boards.

American History's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Newark Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

American History has already played their next contest, a 48-14 win against Dickinson on the 23rd. Newark Central has also already played their next matchup (against West Essex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
