Volleyball Recap: Hamilton Heights Finds Playoff Glory Versus New Castle

With a playoff win on the line, Hamilton Heights rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the New Castle Trojans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since September 16th.

Macie Smith paced Hamilton Heights' offense, picking up 31 kills. Smith got some help from Sierra Bramel and her 24 assists. Finally, Riley Suarez kept Hamilton Heights' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why New Castle lost, don't look at Emily Luce. Despite the final result, she had 27 digs and four aces. Luce has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Hamilton Heights and bumps their season record up to 21-8. As for New Castle, they moved to 17-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Hamilton Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Jay County on the 18th. New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
