Football Recap: Benavides Falls to Arlington Heights Christian in First Game of Season

Benavides unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Arlington Heights Christian Lions on Friday, falling 54-0. The Eagles lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 41-25 score last time.

Benavides and Arlington Heights Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles are set to take on their familiar foe Jubilee Brownsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arlington Heights Christian will square off against rival Victoria Gators HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
