Football Recap: Wyoming Valley West Spartans vs. North Pocono Trojans
Friday just wasn't the day for Wyoming Valley West's offense. They took a blow against the North Pocono Trojans on Friday, falling 48-0. The Spartans lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 23-7 score last time.
Damien Eastman threw for 74 yards on six of 18 attempts. On the ground, Malique Campbell rushed for 62 yards.
Josiah Gray had an outrageously good game for North Pocono as he rushed for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries. Gray's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Cole West also helped with two scores in total.
Wyoming Valley West's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Pocono, the victory was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
Wyoming Valley West and North Pocono will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Spartans will face off against rival Pittston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Pocono is set to take on their familiar foe Wallenpaupack Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
