Baseball Recap: Center Grove Extends Home Winning Streak to 23

Center Grove came tearing into Wednesday's match with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bloomington North Cougars get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Trojans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grady Grant was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Gannon Grant was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Center Grove hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Center Grove's victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Meanwhile, Bloomington North will take on Clay City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (107 vs. 225). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.5, the Eels 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
