Softball Recap: Colton's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Colton had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Country Christian Cougars on Wednesday.

Clara Weinberger looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katelynn Kimsey, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Payton Herbison also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Colton's record now sits at 4-8-1. As for Country Christian, they moved to 4-3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colton will square off against Western Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Country Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Blanchet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
