Softball Recap: San Rafael's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

San Rafael won the last time they faced Albany and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 4-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Thomara Drummer was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Everett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

San Rafael's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Albany, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Rafael will challenge Tamalpais at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Tailed Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Albany, they will face off against De Anza at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
