Basketball Recap: Hayden Hirmiz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Utica over Sterling Heights Stevenson

Utica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by exactly 13 points.

Utica lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hayden Hirmiz, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Emilio Oddo, who scored six points and three steals.

Utica's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Sterling Heights Stevenson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-15 record this season.
