Basketball Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Mater Lakes Academy Bears

The Space Coast Vipers will face off against the Mater Lakes Academy Bears at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Space Coast is headed into Saturday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They came up short against Cocoa on Thursday, falling 71-49.

Despite the defeat, Space Coast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Phillayjah Carroll posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was JaLayah Anderson, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Mater Lakes Academy was beaten by Grandview Prep 73-31 on Friday. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Space Coast's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
