Football Recap: Spruce Takes a Loss

Spruce came into this matchup off a tough 59-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Hillcrest Panthers by a score of 14-12 on Friday. The Timberwolves lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-0 score last time.

Although Spruce took the loss, they still got scores from Jayden Bahlman and Javon Runnels.

Spruce is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Hillcrest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Spruce is set to challenge their familiar foe Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hillcrest will take on rival South Oak Cliff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
